"Avoiding everyone except our primary partners is unhealthy in the extreme. We need a range of people in our lives beyond our relationship partners. Those who interact only with their partners tend to choke off the nourishment and mystery that fuel intimacy, as well as the experiences essential to personal growth."

This passage sat me up, Doc. I met my second wife at 50 years of age, in 23 years I've never needed the company of others. My family is my prison, one I hope never to escape from.
