Babies, Tots, to Boys and Girls

Watching children grow is like threatening the Ivy to climb the wall.

Note: It’s hard to shake off the sense of loss. This is my way.

Large and lazy, smokey red
The sun is finally going to bed
Her beauty now is quite complete
Pull that blanket — cover your head to your feet

Fair of the flesh is our Evie, dear
I’ll sit with her; so she’s nothing to fear
Camden, you’re now as big as a tree
How did that happen? How can it be?

Forest, you are our family skylark
You run yourself ragged at the park
Then home to see your brother — Emmett
Your love before bed, you softly express it

These souls are a gift I can never repay
But to love them each and every day
I kissed the cheek of one lost too soon
Her cheeks were as cool as a November moon
