It is, For me, A Kind of Loving

A poem for those I’ll never meet

Image: Author — words, too.

I write very little poetry for me
Only for those I cannot see
It is, for me, a kind of loving
Poetry, some will say
That is good for nothing

These people I’ve never met
May follow me, I don’t know
If they do read my poems
It is, for me, a kind of loving
When they say, my poetry groans

It is, for me, a kind of loving
When people say an online hi
I just read your work
And ask, is this really poetry?
It was surely written by a dork!

They don’t mean to be cruel
It’s their honest opinion
It is, for me, a kind of loving
When I’m told quite frankly
That it’s good for nothing

Hey you! I hear some say
This ain’t a poem
It’s a bloody rhyme
It is, for me, a kind of loving
From an old poet, now past his prime
