Thank you, Bridget, and yes, a diplomatic end would be wonderful, but Putin didn't start this to be diplomatically stopped. He needs to be economically ruined. That every democratic nation refuses to by any kind of energy from Russia. Meaningful red lines must be drawn up and enforced. Sadly, there is a chance of world war, but my reading of Putin, as a KGB man, doesn't compute for him. He would need China. He won't get China to go along. Your worry is valid, and your hope for a diplomatic end by far the best alternative.
