The mission of my challenges is to allow the writer to bring feelings into a story within the confines of 2500 words.
THE PLOT:
JUNE Challenge explained: Why does what was once beautiful suddenly shatter in hindsight because it concealed dark truths?
Must be written in the first person POV. You’ve been married to a partner for twenty years, blissfully. That partner has worked like a lunatic to make a comfortable living, a beautiful home, and many wonderful vacations.
The couple are both in their fifties. They have two teenage children (whatever genre you wish.)
Breaking the bliss is the fact that one partner learns that the other has been involved in an intimate relationship outside their marriage for the last eighteen of those twenty years. Describe the emotional damage and such revelations can be because of any happening you deem to be right.
When this is revealed to the teenage children, one child then has their revelation to reveal.
Your Challenge, should you wish to accept, must begin with this opening paragraph.
She/He (or it can be a name) heard but looked straight ahead and through everything. A proud, wounded, lost, and infinitely tired gaze that wished to see nothing and no one.
