Today is Eliminated!
What day would you eliminate?
It’s five minutes before midnight; what day shall we eliminate? Remember the one when we vomited in quarts, where the seas moved horribly, and we would have gladly collapsed into a bunk’s embrace?
That was bad, right?
What if we could pull any day from our memories?
Would the elimination of one day change us forever?
But say you could remove that terrible day.
Here’s what I know: Sometimes, life has felt like a prize fight. I was never knocked out, but blood ran down my face, falling into the hairs on my chest, my upper teeth stuck through my lips, my right ear hanging by a flap, my nose bone crushed to powder, and my left eye hanging by a thread on my cheek. Do you want to hear the terror in my scream, the puking of fear, yelling from the sheer horror of what might happen next?
Or shall I eliminate that day?
