Day 2: Are you or do you know someone on the spectrum? What makes them special?

George, The Spectral Child

He was born on a Friday, weighing five pounds and a few pence
They called him George, Fridays Child was a little too pretense
There’s been worries in the womb, after a prenatal ultrasound
As in the second trimester the early signs of ASD were found

But George was coming into the world no matter what was dealt
With beautiful eyes, a head of hair, and a face that made us melt
We really couldn’t see the problem until he was nine months old
He liked to crawl and do his thing and never do what he was told

At two years old he’s just a kid who loves to be alone and play
Not looking others in the eye, no matter what they would say
Call his name, he did not care, he’d pay you little attention
He had no need for engagement and showed his apprehension

George at five was his own little man, he had no need for others
He found no joy at all in sharing toys with older brothers
Happier to spin and rock, drawing pictures with his hands
Whenever loud noises shocked him he’d try to do handstands

Certain words he liked, he’d say them a hundred times over
“This is awkward” he says while performing indecent exposure
He heard it in the movie Frozen, it was difficult not to laugh
Transitions for George are difficult, and must be choreographed

George is really special, though since two I couldn’t touch him
By seven he was fixing mechanical things, flying airplanes on a sim
I don’t know what’s in line for George when he is twenty two
But this I know, he will be everso special, and not like me or you

If you’re not participating in this challenge and would rather not be tagged, just bash me over the head or drop me a bribe and I will remove you.
